East Anglian Daily Times:
LOCAL ANIMAL HEALTH ADVISOR WINS BIG AT THE SQP AWARDS
Fram Farmers’ animal health buyer and livestock manager Jessica Frost, wins Farm SQP of the Year at the National SQP Awards on 10th November.
The SQP Awards, organised by OvertheCounter and in association with AMTRA (Animal Medicines Training Authority) and AHDA (Animal Health Distributors Association), aims to celebrate some of the nations most talented individuals in the animal health industry.
SQPs, also known as registered animal medicines advisors (RAMAs), and industry professionals from across the UK gathered at One Moorgate Place in London to celebrate the hard work of those in the sector with numerous awards, including Farm SQP of the Year.
Jessica Frost has worked in the vet and agricultural industry for more than 20 years, providing technical advice to farmers, ensuring she provides best value for money whilst improving animal welfare. Alongside colleagues within the Fram Farmers livestock team, Jessica supports more than 800 livestock farming businesses who are cooperative members.
During the Awards, Jessica was announced Farm SQP of the Year, an award sponsored by Irish pharmaceutical company Chanelle Farma.
The Farm SQP of the Year recognises a professional, knowledgeable, and experienced SQP who has excelled at supporting and working with farmers to advise them on animal welfare.
Judges were looking for examples of how SQPs promote best practice and responsible use principles to offer tailored advice to farmers. Alongside this, they searched for evidence of how the individual kept up to date with learning and any initiatives or schemes they have introduced on a farm and in their workplace.
Jessica has formed strong working relationships with an array of suppliers and is looking forward to continuing her work in supporting animal owners as a 2023 SQP Award winner.
